The Industry’s Newest R&D and Manufacturing Facilities

Moving Forward with Fuchs

Fuchs North America has been making great products for customers right here in the United States for over 75 years. In fall 2016, we opened a completely new headquarters campus in Hampstead, MD to accommodate our ongoing growth and the support we provide our clients throughout North America.

The move to our new campus comes after outgrowing our home office facilities in Owings Mills, MD, where we were located for over half a century.

New Location – New Amenities

Kelly Heck Photography 0878Our new 21-acre campus houses the executive offices of Fuchs North America, serving as the North American headquarters as well as our primary manufacturing, packaging and warehousing location.

Not only is our production capacity doubling, other new and expanded capabilities include mix manufacturing, spice milling and sterilization, plus packaging and warehousing that utilize the very latest stock-picking and inventory management technologies.

These and other amenities foster an environment of creativity as we work in collaboration with our food manufacturing and foodservice customers to turn new product ideas into reality.

In addition to our Hampstead headquarters, we support customers in all parts of the continent from our satellite manufacturing facilities in Grand Forks, ND, as well as regional warehousing and distribution locations.

Fuchs North America's open/closing policy is dependent on the current public transportation status.

Our Heritage … Our Strength

baltimore spiceAlthough we’re part of the worldwide Fuchs Group, you may also know us as Baltimore Spice. That’s because our company began as Baltimore Spice Company all the way back in 1939.

Through early success and steady organic growth, we outgrew our first facilities in downtown Baltimore and moved to new headquarters facilities in 1959, baltimore spice bldgwith additional major expansions completed in 1979 and 2010.

And in 2016, we moved to our newest headquarters location - a 21-acre campus in Hampstead, MD.

In addition, we opened a processing facility in Grand Forks, ND in 1971, giving us manufacturing capabilities in both the eastern and western portions of the country.

Throughout our entire history as a seasonings manufacturer, we’ve remained focused on superlative R&D, unsurpassed product quality, and controlling production processes and product deliveries down to the smallest details, such as:

  • Multi-million dollar investments in production equipment and technology, including expanded implementation of barcoding technology, enhanced metal detection capabilities, new blender sieves, and new state-of-the-art warehouse facilities

  • Incorporating automated, precision manufacturing processes to ensure consistent, uniform repeatable quality on all products we produce and deliver

  • Just-in-time response in manufacturing and logistics that meshes with your own delivery and production requirements

  • Availability of our technical service experts to consult with you and support your start-up and product test runs

And what do these details mean?  They give you the confidence of knowing that we'll deliver top-quality products “first time / every time” … and that our products always conform to your requirements regarding flowability, taste, texture, appearance, healthy non-GMO and gluten-free options, and other critical attributes.
