It’s no secret that Organic & GMO-Free products have taken the food industry by storm in the past couple of years. “Organic,” “Non-GMO,” and “All-Natural” claims have been popping up on everything from salsa to frozen foods to cake mixes and even snacks. But why are these products so in demand right now?

Let’s take a closer look at what’s driving this trend:

  • Millennials, of course! Millennials have had a huge impact on the food industry in the past few years. Compared to older generations, millennials are more concerned about health, sustainability, and where their food comes from.
  • The number of snacks with Organic and GMO-Free claims has seen substantial growth. This has been driven by Millennial Parents, as they seek out "healthier" snacks for their children.non gmo fuchs trend alerts
  • People, in general, are becoming more conscious eaters, and they’re far more concerned about where their food is coming from and what chemicals might be in their food than ever before. That’s driving a lot of the shift towards Organic and Non-GMO products.
  • People perceive Organic and Non-GMO products to be healthier than other products. As people are becoming more health conscious, they’re constantly seeking out products that not only taste great, but that they think are better for them.

The rise of Organic and Non-GMO products has been impacting the industry in several ways. Retailers and suppliers alike have been responding by introducing new products that meet these standards and by coming up with their own lists of acceptable and unacceptable ingredients.
